It's Wednesday, What's new with you?
Hi George and the gang,
I just got back from checking on Maggie. She is now sitting up in the chair, just had her pain shot and will be up and walking shortly. Maggie is doing great and will be on the board when she gets home, told her all about this wonderful OFF board.
I'm getting my labs drawn tomorrow for my 2 year check up with the surgeon. This Saturday is our Bariatric Reunion and it's fun seeing all the people, especially the doctors and nurses and all the support people in our Bariatric program. Last year we had Barbara Thompson as our speaker, this year we are using our very own local success people who had bariatric surgery. My BF who had the lapband and I are going to dress up and wow everyone. Our support group leader Jen challenged us last month to come to the support group meeting not dressed like when we were heavy. My friend and I were the only ones who took her up on the challenge so she told everyone to dress up for the reunion and to try to dress like a thin person would.
So...how are you all dressing now after you've lost weight? I must admit I'm much more comfortable in longer skirts than shorter ones. For the first time in my life I'm cold so I prefer sweaters and I'm not one to show cleavage...but my "girls" need a good support bra.
I'm trying not to have an identity crisis on my new "normal size" self but dang sometimes I look in the mirror and say "who is this woman"???? Does anyone else know what I'm saying? I loved myself as a large fluffy woman, and now I'm learning to love me as a size 6, I'm the same crazy, wild gal who laughs all the time and then I get a glimpse in the window reflection and have to stop for a second...I'm still me but just a little smaller...or should I say a lot smaller! LOL

Oh, I know what you are talking about ... I still look in the mirror and don't know who's smiling back at me, and I'm nearly five years out. So even this far out, it's hard to recognize the reflection.
As for clothes, I still pretty much dress the same ... jeans, sweatshirts, t-shirts, capris (never liked shorts ... bad thighs) ... sweaters in winter, yeah, a good bra helps. I never was one for dresses and skirts ... always very casual. I guess it's the old sportswriter in me. Too hard to cover a game in a skirt. I just love my jeans.

New day same ol stuff. Got my taxes done at 3 AM. Federal is so easy, Nebraska's is a maze, I have no idea if I am right. If I make a mistake on federal and over pay they correct it and send it back, not good ol state. they will keep every penny. I can't believe their EASY form, such a joke..anyway. I just copied every thing , now will put it together and mail in on my way to church. Time for me to leave work, have to shop for a meeting we are having tomorrow. Ta ta for now. Blessings

i had done the federal a long time ago- did the state last nite- all is ok--but today i sent in the city tax for last year and this year (well 2007 and 2008) an di think i screwed up! i think i double dipped somehow- ouch!!! i'm sure they will catch it and adjust..i hope!!!!!!!!
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
